Food Allergy Self-Test

This is a simple way of determining your sensitivity to certain foods. Start by taking your pulse, be sure to use a watch with a second hand, prior to eating the food. It helps if you are able to first relax and take a deep breath before taking your pulse. Count the number of beats in a 60 second period, record your pulse. A normal pulse reading is between 52 and 70 beats per minute. Next, consume the food you are test an allergic response for. Remember to consume only that particular food. Then wait twenty minutes and retake your pulse in the same fashion as before. If your pulse rate has increased by more that ten beats per minute, omit this food from your diet for a period of one month. Then retest your response to the food with the pulse method.

It is best to use the purest most raw form of the food available. For instance, if testing for a wheat allergy, use cream of wheat with no sugar, milk or other food added. If testing for a peanut allergy, use raw peanuts or as close to raw as you can find. Do not use peanut butter, as it contains other food additives.
